REGION, HISTORY AND TRADITION
The development of the marine and nautical sector represents a specific characteristic and vocation of the Trieste area.
The Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy is strongly characterised by shipbuilding activities, a sector that has shown a positive growth trend over recent years, and today is becoming increasingly more attractive to large investors, even abroad. In addition, a truly high-level economic-production supply chain revolves around the main industries, boasting the distinctive skills of professionals in the region.
Situated near the gulf of Trieste, for many years the port of Muggia was the hub of the Trieste shipbuilding industry. San Rocco Shipyard has a history of almost eighty years, which started in 1941 with the founding of Cantiere Nautico Felzsegi, a piece of history from the sailing tradition in Trieste, and continues today with the emergence of San Rocco International Shipyard.
